Gift of Healing

“Healing Light”

by Toni Truesdale

The archaic texts of the ancients

Allude to the talents of women:

Prophecy and healing.

The Oracles of the past were

Connected to groves, grottos and caves

Sacred to the feminine since creation.

They spoke in the language of poetry,

laughter and song;

For generations after generation

Back to the beginning...

They reach out to us now.

These talents were always to be shared in communities

Never for personal gain.

Today we are called now to use these inherited gifts

To help heal the Earth;

From one Wise Woman to another, across cultures.

"I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys"

"Solomon and Sheba"
 We think of our Judeao-Christian origins in a modern context;
the ancient world was not anglo-saxon, indeed,
There was no much thing.
The sacred texts speak of a history of people that may closely resemble
The African-American people of today.
For all the migrations, trading and diplomacy that was conducted around the Sea
of the Mediterranean, Mideast and Africa the people of the archaic world was gloriously shaded
in tones of brown and black.
Race is a modern political invention created to rationalize oppression of one people to another.
To steal and to use in European-Christian ordained "manifest destiny".
On this valentines day let us recognize love is universal,
That we are a human family
And see in truth all our shades of skin as just that, as women we are all:
"I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the Valley"

"Go Down Moses"

Go down Moses
Way down in Egypt land
Tell all pharaoes to
Let my people go!
When Israel was in Egypt land
Let my people go!
Oppressed so hard they could not stand
Let my people go!
So the God said: go down, Moses
Way down in Egypt land
Tell all pharaoes to
Let my people go!
So moses went to Egypt land
Let my people go!
He made all pharaoes understand
Let my people go!
Yes the lord said: go down, Moses
Way down in Egypt land
Tell all pharaoes to
Let my people go!
